When you’re looking to get a list of companies by industry for your direct marketing campaign, the first thing to ask is which industry vertical is the best target market for you?

Sometimes you know the answer straight away, that’s excellent.

For example, when you are a supplier to a particular industry – it’s a lot easier. But what if you think you can serve everyone? Then the numbers you are targeting might be huge. Here are a couple of considerations:

Think about if you really do need/want to target the following groups of businesses:

• Government
• Schools
• Not-for-Profits
• Churches
  
• Retail Shops & Services
• Professional Services
• Manufacturers
• Specific industries (like Legal, Panel beaters, etc)

All of these industries are typically included when you say you target everyone. Remember, the more specific your targeting is, the better results you will get with every campaign.
